Whether you're going camping, backpacking, surfing, skiing, or kayaking, we have you covered. Our extensive gear inventory includes sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, camping stoves, water filters, surfboards, ocean kayaks, wetsuits, yoga mats, and hammocks. But how do you choose the right equipment for your trip? Here are a few tips: 1. Consider the activity: Think about the specific activity you'll be participating in. For example, if you're going camping, you'll need a tent, sleeping bag, and camping stove. If you're going surfing, you'll need a surfboard and wetsuit. Make a list of the essential gear for your chosen activity. 2. Check the weather: Take into account the weather conditions during your trip. If you're expecting cold temperatures, make sure to rent a warm sleeping bag and appropriate clothing. If it's going to be sunny, don't forget to grab sunscreen and a hat. 3. Size and fit: Ensure that the gear you choose fits you properly. A well-fitting backpack or wetsuit can make a huge difference in your comfort and performance. If you're unsure about sizing, our knowledgeable staff can assist you in finding the right fit. 4. Duration of rental: Consider how long you'll need the equipment. Our membership pricing varies depending on the duration of membership, so it's important to plan accordingly. If you're going on a longer trip, it might be more cost-effective to opt for a longer membership. Now that you have some tips on choosing the right equipment, let's dive deeper into each activity and the gear you'll need: Camping: For a camping trip, you'll need a tent, sleeping bag, camping stove, and camping essentials like a headlamp, cooking utensils, and a water filter. Don't forget to pack a comfortable sleeping pad for a good night's sleep. Backpacking: If you're planning a backpacking trip, you'll need a lightweight backpack, a tent, a sleeping bag, a camping stove, and a water filter. Consider the weight and size of the gear, as you'll be carrying it on your back for long distances. Surfing: For a surfing adventure, you'll need a surfboard, a wetsuit, and surf wax. Depending on the conditions, you might also want to rent a leash and fins. Don't forget to bring sunscreen and a towel! Skiing/Snowboarding: If you're hitting the slopes, you'll need skis or a snowboard, boots, bindings, and appropriate clothing. Renting gear is a great option if you don't ski or snowboard often, as it can be expensive to buy your own equipment. Kayaking: For a kayaking trip, you'll need an ocean kayak, a paddle, a life jacket, and appropriate clothing. Consider the length and type of kayak depending on the water conditions and your skill level. Remember, at The Excursion Club, we want to make sure you have the best outdoor experience possible.
